This painting embodies the way my childhood deeply affected my relationship with reality. I was constantly told that my memories were faulty, that I was remembering events, times, etc. wrong. I struggled to distinguish between truths and falsities, between what I thought was real and what I had allegedly fabricated in my mind. This resulted in an inability to trust my own thoughts. I hope this painting resonates with you all, with whatever meaning you extract from it. I hope you feel heard.
